In the summer of 2015, I was sitting in my t shirt and beach shorts in my studio in Alicante, Spain. Everyday was a nice day when you're close to the beach and family. And then I checked a linkedin message from an old Gulf News Colleague saying that his company was looking for an illustrator/designer. The company was TD Bank. I had checked the message a month after it was sent! I contacted him at once and reminded him I was a cartoonist and what in the blazes was I going to do in a bank? He said, just talk to the guy, and see what happens. Three interviews, one complicated police check, and two flights later, we were in Toronto and the next day I would start my full time gig at TD Bank. I illustrated articles, designed, art directed videos and even wrote headlines sometimes. Today, I am working part time for TD, and continue to create these illustrations. It's been a great challenge, creating colourful and interesting imagery for what is essentially dry material. I've had a great relationship with the writers and editors, and that has helped a lot!
